Here is how it will work in our class. I will be post a question based on a concept we have worked with in class. You will respond to the question by adding new information or giving your opinion.
Before we get into any course work here, please tell me about yourself. While I have taught many of you before and know a bit about you, its always nice to get to know the people that you work with a little better. Please take the time to answer the questions below.

1. My name is Anja Takac and I enjoy business classes, especially Marketing. I also like to read, a lot. I run often just for the fun of it.
ReplyDelete2. I have been working at the Egg and I for almost two years now and it isn't all that bad. I worked at the Ice Cream Shoppe beside it during the summer which wasn't bad at all.
3.Last year went by really well, I did well in all my classes, except for math but this year I hope to get better marks. I excelled in all my business classes as well as fitness and english.
4. I like to do presentations that are business related, well basically anyhing related. I also like to take notes, even though sometimes there is a lot to write sometimes you're always prepared and the time goes by faster.

ReplyDelete2. I work at Marble Slab Creamery. It is located right by the Hamilton Mountain movie theaters. I scoop peoples ice creams & make cones! I like my job because i work with my best friend. I also like it because i have alot of regular customers that come in.
3. Last year went pretty well i really enjoyed yearbook class and english class. I also did very well in math first semester. I dont really remember anything else i took.
4. I don't mind writing notes as long as they aren't super long. I like watching video's if there interesting.

2. I have a job at the Pool Shoppe. I work in the back doing chlorine and maintenance of the pools in the pool court. Its an outdoor job so I enjoy it.
3. Last year was a pretty rough year. I was not in school for first semester as I was in the hospital for 2 and a half months. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in early September. U.C is a bowel disease that affected my colon. It was a chronic case so surgery was needed close to a month later to remove my colon. I did booklet courses while in the hospital/at home during first semester. I only needed 6 credits to graduate last year so along with the three courses I completed second semester I was able to graduate. I did well in all of my courses:
4U English - 84
Exercise Science - 82
Sports Marketing - 82
4. During a lesson I like watching videos and doing research on the computers. I do whatever it is we're doing in class but I prefer doing the activities above.
1)I'm 18 years old and my nationality is Italian. I like listening to music and going on the computer. I like hanging out with my friends and partying.
ReplyDelete2)Yes, i have two part time jobs. I work as a cashier at Fortino's and an Ice Cream Scooper at Marble Slab with Sarah. I don't like anything about Fortino's, to be honest I can't stand working there and have plans on quitting. I like working at Marble Slab because its fun and I get to do other things other than just scoop ice cream such as make cones, fill mix-ins and clean.
3)Last year went okay, I aced yearbook class and did pretty good in english. I had troubles with Sports Marketing and Pop Culture. I can't remember what courses I had first semester.
4)I don't mind writing notes as long as they aren't super long. I like researching and watching videos if there on something interesting. I hate reading from the text book.

2. I only have a simple job as a carpenter for my neighbor. He lives right across from me and I very much like it.
3. Last year went okay, but it could have been better. I aced Visual Arts and Communications Technology, but had trouble with Math and English.

I have a job, i do landscape contracting and i like it.
my last year wasent the best year i had, i did well in horticultre and not so well in music.
i like learning new thing with fun activities but not an overload of new topics and new information. i like short but to the point lessons.

1) In my free time, I enjoy using the computer. Particularly, I enjoy talking to friends as well as following news/tech sites (The Spectator for local news and SitePoint for tech news). In terms of exercise. enjoy swimming in the summer and playing ping-pong. Rarely do I play video games, however I like watching television (Big Bang Theory is my favourite show). I spent summer in summer school (new credit - MCR3U) and went to Florida in August.
ReplyDelete2) While I do not have a job, I've volunteered at Valley Park library, McMaster Hospital, and Billy Green.
3) Overall, I had a great last year in terms of academics. Courses that came easily to me were Marketing, Information Technology, Math, Psychology, and Law. I struggled a bit with French, English, and Accounting. Regardless, I managed to get excellent marks in all of my classes.
4) I like to write notes, research, create (not present) PowerPoints, watch videos, and listen to podcasts.

During the semester, I will try and accommodate your preferred learning style by incorporating many of those teaching tools. Last year we used the blog, Turnitin and texting polls to help drive the classroom instruction during some lessons. I hope your open to trying new things.

2) I have a job as a nail technician at Jenny's Nails. It is a tiring and repetitive job that can sometimes be fun depending on the client I get.
3) Last year was good but by second semester it got difficult due to my illnesses. Although I received good passing marks I knew my mark was affected.
4) I don't mind taking notes but if they are long it would be nice to take a little break to watch a video or researching information that is related to the lesson. I don't like doing work out of textbooks that involves a lot of reading.
1. I love to watch movies and keep busy. Hockey is my favorite sport to play and watch.

3. I found that last year was a big adjustment from grade 10. I did good in all my classes except math which has always been a hard class for me. I found that I got my best marks in my business classes.

2)Yes i am a shift runner/Co-manager at little Caesers pizza, It is by far the easiest job i have ever had and its great because i barley have to do anything.
3)Last year was ok. I missed a lot of class due to family trips so if i was in class i could have done a lot better.
4) I like debates, anything that will let me interact and have a hands on feel to the class.

2. I had a job in Mississauga in a Subway, but I quit when I moved here. It was fun, I liked it.
3. Last year was an okay year. I took Dance Class and was pretty good at it.
4. I don't mind writing notes, but would rather watch documentaries and take notes from that. It's better with a real life example.
