Strategic Analysis Tools
The last unit focused on organizational strategy. A variety of strategies were looked at. As well, tools for analyzing the paths (strategies) different organizations take were presented and applied. SWOT, PEST +C, BCG and Porters 5 Forces were all offered to the class as ways to assess an organizations strategy. Whats tool do you find the most useful or assessible? Why? Give an example of its usefulness by looking at an organization or organizations and assess its strategy or current position using the tool. Do not do a full analysis, but rather three or four points that show you understand the tool and the analyzed organization(s).

SWOT and Organizational Strategy
Over the past two weeks, we have talked about strategic planning. We have examined the process of stragetic planning, types of strategic plans and looked at a tool to help assess the direction an organization is headed in.
Investigate a company and assess their position in regards to their stategy. Here's how;

- Select an organization.
- Google search for two or three recent articles that discusses what the company is doing or planning to do.
- Write a brief summary about what the company is doing that illstrates their strategy (ie making new technology, moving overseas, buying a competitor). Using our class note, what kind of strategy is it
- Based on the articles' information, perform a mini SWOT. Try and have something for each heading.
- Paste your article links to your posting.

Welcome to Business Leadership and Management Studies
In this blog we will be discussing business concepts covered in class.
Here is how it will work in our class. I will be post a question based on a concept we have worked with in class. You will respond to the question by adding new information or giving your opinion.
